My experience with Hgreg Tampa went from great to horrible real quick. The process of purchasing my vehicle was a pretty smooth transition.
The only thing that I didn't like was the upcharge for a coverage that I did not want. I was told by the sales manager that it was required to purchase the additional $1600 coverage. I went ahead and agreed and got with my bank to adjust the pricing of the vehicle. Note, since I had my own bank financing, their finance person refused to invite us into their office to sign our paperwork.
We had to sit out front and our salesman had to bring our papers to us to sign. After I received the vehicle, I noticed the stability track light cut on as I left the dealership. So I called my salesman and told him about the situation. They scheduled me to come back in to correct the situation, so I took the two-hour round trip back with a diagnostic report so they knew exactly what was going on.
The only thing they did was change out the battery. While headed back home a second time, I got a mile down the road, and the stabiltrack light came back on. So I called the salesman once again and they scheduled me to come back. At this point, it's becoming an inconvenience.
I took the vehicle back and this time they only changed out the fuse. I asked the service rep if they even test drove the vehicle this time and made sure the cruise control was working, which was indicated on the report? She came back and said they found the problem and had to order the part. She then asked if I would like to leave the vehicle until it was repaired.
I said yes. I can't continue to find someone to drop me off or pick me up or travel 2 hours round trip on a weekday due to them failing to fix the problem correctly the first two times. After about two weeks, I get a phone call stating that my vehicle was fixed, but... a tow truck hit my truck but they will take care of the damages.
So I asked the service department if they had a collision repair shop on-site. They responded, 'No, but we have a vendor that will come onsite and fix the damage.' Using my previous auto claims experience, I reviewed the photo of the damage and informed them that my truck needed to go to a collision repair shop and the damage that was caused couldn't be fixed with a 'dentless repair.' They disagreed and used their vendor, and when I got my truck back, it was horrible! It still had visible dents and the paint didn't match! I was outraged!
The service department director came out and apologized and told me I shouldn't have been given my vehicle back in that state and then told his staff to schedule me to come back once again to fix it. I agreed and scheduled to go back on Nov 6th so they can repair it on Nov 7th. Now, after I cooled off, I thought about the whole situation and decided to get my insurance company involved. I'm glad I did.
Why would I let them try to use another dentless repair vendor a second time when it didn't work the first time? My adjuster couldn't believe how they tried to patch repair my truck the cheapest way possible. After I got the estimate, I called Hgreg Tampa back and sent them a copy of the email. I was told the service director wasn't in and that management said they would not cover the cost.
I told them no problem, my insurance will go through subrogation to get their money back. This was a bad learning experience! In order for me to reach anyone, I had to call over and over and over and over and over again! Whenever I went there, multiple people were standing around doing nothing!
The only reason they got 2 stars was because of Derin, the salesman. He was very professional, respectful, and trustworthy. I guess that's the reason why he left shortly after I purchased my vehicle.
I will never refer anyone nor purchase another vehicle from this place. Buy at your own risk!

Verified Reviewer |This company is awful
This outfit is a textbook example of what happens when a big company gets too comfortable with being shady. H Greg appears to operate under the illusion that bait-and-switch is still a viable sales tactic in 2025.
They advertise vehicles that either never existed or were sold long agoprobably to lure people into calling so they can pivot and push other inventory. The car I was interested in was aggressively priced, and while I knew it sounded too good to be true, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Big mistake.
Im a seasoned car buyer and collector. I know what Im looking at, and I expect a conversation with someone who does toonot a runaround.
I always insist on a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) through a franchise dealer or qualified local tech. But I never got the chance, because over a week and a half, I called four times and was dumped into a voicemail that proudly announced, Youve reached the VIP sales line, only to then follow up with the classic kiss-off: This mailbox is full and cannot accept any more messages. Click.
That sums up the professionalism here. If they make it hard before you buy, imagine what happens after theyve got your money.
My rule is simple: if a car is hard to buy, walk away.
This isnt the '90syou dont need to deal with a local snake oil lot anymore. Buyer beware is just code for were about to screw youhope you're paying attention.

My issue was Never resolved. I wasted time back and forth to the service department for a couple months.
The management lies to the customers and side with their team. Very disappointed will not recommend only advise is to buy from a larger dealer and get a vehicle with a warranty.

Verified ReviewerWARNING TO POTENTIAL HGREG CUSTOMERS - SIMPLY STAY AWAY!
The most humiliating and wretched car buying experience ever encountered.
Appointment was made in advance and confirmed with one Techi Palma of HGreg Nissan Kendall-Palmetto Bay, to test drive and purchase one of two 2024 vehicles at 17305 S. Dixie Hwy South Miami on Saturday April 26, 2025.
Techi Palma assured that the two vehicles would be ready and available and texted, "Great news...Vehicle stock# RM038981...
is available...It is within your $24k budget!... Here are more details... As soon as you arrive, sign in with your name and phone # and let me know you're here and we will help you right away!"
On arrival at HGreg Nissan Kendall-Palmetto Bay after a 100-mile trip, I was informed that Techi was not available. Whereupon a guy intervened and said hes one of the managers and provided someone to assist.
Thirty minutes later, I was shown the two vehicles. It was shocking! They were filthy and obviously damaged. Most of the exterior of one vehicle was hand-painted with a course paint brush and the left rear door handle was damaged.
The other vehicle was covered with bird droppings, dirt, and grime all over, while the interior had a foul odor, and seats were greasy, soiled and filthy.
Two hours later, the insult intensified. Although having my own plates from a previous vehicle, I was presented a written out-the-door cost of over $28,100 for the damaged and hand-painted vehicle which was priced at $21,998. This is the same damaged vehicle that Techi Palma texted to us as being within our $24,000 budget. After showing the manager the text messages from HGregs Techi Palma, he said he would be back with me.
He soon returned and gave me another written out-the door price of a little over $26,000. He further stated, there is nothing he could do while admitting he did not see the condition of the vehicles.
He never apologized or gave and he did not provide the final price for the other vehicle that left grease marks on our clothing during the test drive.
It was an appalling experience leaving me to conclude that HGregs business practice was reprehensible and untrustworthy; something that decent hard-working people should avoid at all cost! The products presented to us were inferior and the conditions of the vehicles, whilst known, are not disclosed to buyers beforehand as HGreg piles on excessive fees.
SIMPLY PUT, HGREG CANNOT BE TRUSTED AND SHOULD BE AVOIDED BY RATIONAL RESPONSIBLE BUYERS.

I basically was sold a lemon. Within two hours of driving it out of the lot, the engine blew.
It was smoking. I was so scared it pretty much left me traumatized. I drove it back, but I was on the highway when it went bad, causing a possible scene of damage and personal harm. I couldn't go past 41 mph.
Then I had to take it down to about 25 mph because if I tried, the clacking noise got worse. I went back, and almost all of the cars we saw had oil leaks. Worst experience I had.
I attempted to email executive management with no response. AVOID THIS DEALER.

Verified ReviewerDamaged car sold!
They have not contacted since I submitted the review. I took the car to Pearson Nissan in Ocala to have it checked.
None of the $8,000 contracts they added covered the damage found in the car. THE CAR HAD BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT! IT WAS DECLARED TOTAL LOSS. However, it was sold to me as new!
The repair was $7,500. The dealership I took it to advised me it was illegal and dangerous to drive the car.
I paid CASH for it! I didn't have any more money!
DO NOT BUY CAR UNLESS TAKEN TO MECHANIC!!!Bought a 2023 Nissan Rogue at HGreg Orlando. Was moving and concentrated on that.
Did not drive much. 2 weeks later I noticed it was steering to the left. A week or so later the lights in the panel came up. I made an appointment with Pierson Nissan in Ocala.
The day before the appointment I was out and in front of Pierson Nissan it started making a scraching noise on the rear right tire. Drove into the dealership and left it there. The next day the Service Dept calls me to let me know there is severe damage to the right side front and back tires and they would send me pictures. The damage was horrible !
That car had been in a serious accident! The Carfax said MINOR accident NO damages. Excuse me! No way.
The price to repair: $7,500. I paid CASH FOR THE CAR! Now I don't have a car or the money to fix it and Tommy the Sales Manager says they are not responsible. I'm 73 years old, disabled and on Social Security.
NO HEART NO SOUL ONLY JUNK CARS SOLD. HGREG SHOULD BE CLOSED!
He took it to the mechanic after the purchase and found out that it was damaged in the wheel area, all broken parts. We went back and they exchaged the car, everyone apologized and told us they would use this as a training example for the mechanics. Now, after I purchased my car on June 29th I was happy. The only hurdle I had was the fact that the Carfax stated the car had an accident on the right side and that it was MINOR.
I gave a good review, which I'm going to withdraw. On August 12 the car started making a scraching noise on the right back tire. It happened right in front of Pierson Nissan in Ocala. A friend was following me because I was going to take it to have a message on the panel checked.
I drove across and left the car there. The appointment was on August 13 at 1:30 p.m. The next day Vanessa from the Service Dept. called me to tell me that the car was in bad shape and she would send me pictures.
She did and I was shocked! I could have been killed! Both Right Front tire and Right Back tire parts were broken. It even has rust!
(I hope to include the pictures.) The cost of the repair is $3,855.45. The "Elite Package" with Ally does not cover the repair. Cesar Robles from Finance at HGreg told me not to worry that they would either repair or exchange after he saw the pictures. That he would talk to Tony the GSM and get back to me.
TONY the GSM of HGreg Orlando called the next day and stated "They are not reponsible due to being over 30 days." I was sold a car that was severely damaged. I'm 73 years old and I'm disabled. I feel I was taken advantage of. This is serious!
I could have been killed! AND IT'S THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENS TO ME! How could that be! How many people have gone through this?

This company is a scam and their sales people and managers are liars. I repeatedly told them I didn't want the Elite Protection and they absolutely refused to remove it from my contract.
They told me that "I could walk out if I didn't like it" They told me it was applied to every vehicle which is a lie, how can they force customers to purchase a bogus warranty they dont want. They didnt even clean the car, there are stains on the seats and dirt, loose dirt on the floor. They also charged a $1,300 dealer fee, $900 reg filing fee and $500 license fee. $4,200 in additional crap, and way over priced for the registration and "license".
Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.
Capital One gave me a much lower interest rate and then they dealership tried adding several points to add more profit. This Dealership is the worst of the worst.

Verified Reviewer |Car shopping gone wrong
This was probably the worst car buying experience of my life. Here is the story: We found a car we liked on Car Gurus.
They connected us to a car dealer, HGreg.com in Orlando, and set up a visit there. We received numerous follow-up texts from HGreg confirming our appointment and we even received a price reduction update a couple of days prior to our scheduled visit. We drove 2 hours to the dealership just to find out that the car had left their lot three weeks prior. We were understandably upset and frustrated.
The car salesman and his manager told us that this was not their fault because they do not create the listings or the appointments. Indeed, the car salesman, who looked like a kid fresh out of juvie, complained that we were giving him attitude. Trying to make the best of an awful situation, we tried to look at cars that the Orlando dealership would be able to ship in from somewhere else. That's when we found out that HGreg, besides the ubiquitous $899 filing fee (which everybody knows is bogus and pure dealer profit), adds on a suite of vehicle protection services to the tune of over four thousand dollars.
The car salesman swore that he cannot take these additions off the car because they had already been applied to the car. The car we looked at was ultimately over $10k more expensive than what had been listed on their website. That's when we left knowing that this was not a place where we would like to buy a car ever! I am still at a loss for words as to how horrible the experience was.
It felt sleazy and dishonest.
The staff showed very little respect for us as clients and for fair sales practices in general. Apparently, the car we came to the dealership for, the one that had left the lot 3 weeks earlier, is still listed on HGreg Orlando's website as of today.

I have been trying to reach out about the purchase of a car as an out-of-state buyer. I have been treated poorly by staff, being rushed and blindly transferred to a voicemail for out-of-state buyers.
After calling for the ninth time over five days, the sales representative finally admitted, 'We don't really do out-of-state deals'.
What kind of service is that? I would like a follow-up before I begin to discuss my experiences publicly.

Thank you, Hgreg, for wasting two entire days and a lot of my money! I contacted the West Palm Beach location about purchasing a vehicle.
I asked what all their fees were so I would know the total price and deal was before I traveled 266 miles. I had to clear my schedule and take a whole day off work to take a train for 7 hours to get down there. I arrived to find out there is a $1500 protection plan that I HAVE TO pay for. It's supposedly some mysterious thing that protects the surface of your paint, headlights, and tires.
They claim whoever I spoke with forgot to mention it. There is literally a HUGE sticker in front of every chair and every customer and employee, about this stupid protection plan. Which, by the way, is a complete scam. I've confirmed this from other dealers.
I bought one-way train tickets for my wife and I, didn't get the car at the price they said, then had to spend more money to book a hotel for the night just so I can get up and buy return tickets home the next day.
WHY COULDN'T YOU JUST BE HONEST!! The irony is when I was sitting in the dealership, all over the walls it says 'No Hidden Fees!' #worstexperienceever.

RIGHT ON TARGET!!!! ANY car dealer which adds FAKE FEES to the price is FULLY ADMITTING honesty and integrity are NOT practiced there.
Secondly, when you go to any other store, do their employees put items in the bag and tell you to pay for them whether you want them or not? ANY dealer which adds DEALER INSTALLED OPTIONS is DEFRAUDING you! This is part of the reason the Sleazy American Car Business has earned its septic tank reputation and as you have seen, H. Greg is right there with the other slime balls!
PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!!! You are a SMART consumer!
