Damaged car sold!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user Aug 19, 2024

DO NOT BUY CAR UNLESS TAKEN TO MECHANIC!!!Bought a 2023 Nissan Rogue at HGreg Orlando. Was moving and concentrated on that.

Did not drive much. 2 weeks later I noticed it was steering to the left. A week or so later the lights in the panel came up. I made an appointment with Pierson Nissan in Ocala.

The day before the appointment I was out and in front of Pierson Nissan it started making a scraching noise on the rear right tire. Drove into the dealership and left it there. The next day the Service Dept calls me to let me know there is severe damage to the right side front and back tires and they would send me pictures. The damage was horrible !

That car had been in a serious accident! The Carfax said MINOR accident NO damages. Excuse me! No way.

The price to repair: $7,500. I paid CASH FOR THE CAR! Now I don't have a car or the money to fix it and Tommy the Sales Manager says they are not responsible. I'm 73 years old, disabled and on Social Security.

NO HEART NO SOUL ONLY JUNK CARS SOLD. HGREG SHOULD BE CLOSED!

Original review Aug 15, 2024
On June 29, 2024 I purchased a 2023 Nissan Rogue from HGreg Orlando. I went there because a few years back i had purchased a car for my Grandson.

He took it to the mechanic after the purchase and found out that it was damaged in the wheel area, all broken parts. We went back and they exchaged the car, everyone apologized and told us they would use this as a training example for the mechanics. Now, after I purchased my car on June 29th I was happy. The only hurdle I had was the fact that the Carfax stated the car had an accident on the right side and that it was MINOR.

I gave a good review, which I'm going to withdraw. On August 12 the car started making a scraching noise on the right back tire. It happened right in front of Pierson Nissan in Ocala. A friend was following me because I was going to take it to have a message on the panel checked.

I drove across and left the car there. The appointment was on August 13 at 1:30 p.m. The next day Vanessa from the Service Dept. called me to tell me that the car was in bad shape and she would send me pictures.

She did and I was shocked! I could have been killed! Both Right Front tire and Right Back tire parts were broken. It even has rust!

(I hope to include the pictures.) The cost of the repair is $3,855.45. The "Elite Package" with Ally does not cover the repair. Cesar Robles from Finance at HGreg told me not to worry that they would either repair or exchange after he saw the pictures. That he would talk to Tony the GSM and get back to me.

TONY the GSM of HGreg Orlando called the next day and stated "They are not reponsible due to being over 30 days." I was sold a car that was severely damaged. I'm 73 years old and I'm disabled. I feel I was taken advantage of. This is serious!

I could have been killed! AND IT'S THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENS TO ME! How could that be! How many people have gone through this?

According to BBB quite a few!

Car shopping gone wrong

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
HGreg - Car shopping gone wrong

This was probably the worst car buying experience of my life. Here is the story: We found a car we liked on Car Gurus.

They connected us to a car dealer, HGreg.com in Orlando, and set up a visit there. We received numerous follow-up texts from HGreg confirming our appointment and we even received a price reduction update a couple of days prior to our scheduled visit. We drove 2 hours to the dealership just to find out that the car had left their lot three weeks prior. We were understandably upset and frustrated.

The car salesman and his manager told us that this was not their fault because they do not create the listings or the appointments. Indeed, the car salesman, who looked like a kid fresh out of juvie, complained that we were giving him attitude. Trying to make the best of an awful situation, we tried to look at cars that the Orlando dealership would be able to ship in from somewhere else. That's when we found out that HGreg, besides the ubiquitous $899 filing fee (which everybody knows is bogus and pure dealer profit), adds on a suite of vehicle protection services to the tune of over four thousand dollars.

The car salesman swore that he cannot take these additions off the car because they had already been applied to the car. The car we looked at was ultimately over $10k more expensive than what had been listed on their website. That's when we left knowing that this was not a place where we would like to buy a car ever! I am still at a loss for words as to how horrible the experience was.

It felt sleazy and dishonest.

The staff showed very little respect for us as clients and for fair sales practices in general. Apparently, the car we came to the dealership for, the one that had left the lot 3 weeks earlier, is still listed on HGreg Orlando's website as of today.

Bait and Switch

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Thank you, Hgreg, for wasting two entire days and a lot of my money! I contacted the West Palm Beach location about purchasing a vehicle.

I asked what all their fees were so I would know the total price and deal was before I traveled 266 miles. I had to clear my schedule and take a whole day off work to take a train for 7 hours to get down there. I arrived to find out there is a $1500 protection plan that I HAVE TO pay for. It's supposedly some mysterious thing that protects the surface of your paint, headlights, and tires.

They claim whoever I spoke with forgot to mention it. There is literally a HUGE sticker in front of every chair and every customer and employee, about this stupid protection plan. Which, by the way, is a complete scam. I've confirmed this from other dealers.

I bought one-way train tickets for my wife and I, didn't get the car at the price they said, then had to spend more money to book a hotel for the night just so I can get up and buy return tickets home the next day.

WHY COULDN'T YOU JUST BE HONEST!! The irony is when I was sitting in the dealership, all over the walls it says 'No Hidden Fees!' #worstexperienceever.

Enclosed is a description of the complaint against HGREG Orlando including pictures of the damage the car had and documentation related to the 2023 Nissan Rogue.

Thank you very much.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/QXXY42KAA1A43z1F7 At the time of the purchase of the car everything seemed fine. I was not using the car that much due to being in the process of moving.

According to Snapshot from Progressive it was 3.25 miles per week.

Urgent: Request for Refund

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Dear HGreg Doral Team,

I am writing to express my concern regarding a recent transaction at your dealership. On September 8th, I purchased a car from your store, trading in my previous vehicle and paying an additional amount of $3,930.19 on the same day.

However, the car has not been delivered to me.

On September 17th, I visited your store to request a refund.

Despite multiple attempts to follow up, I have not received any response or the refund.

I feel that I am being misled and would appreciate your immediate attention to this matter. Please process the refund of $3,930.19 at your earliest convenience.

Thank you for your prompt response.

Car was under there warranty and now they won't fix it because it is now past there 5 day's because they dragged it out so they do not have to pay for the repairs themselves

This place has no compassion as to there customers, if the car you buy is okay then you are all good, but if you by a car form them and have problems the next day they will make you wait until after the 5 days and then say your warranty is up and they will not help you at all, bought a car and have not been able to drive it and now have no car and the manager will not pick the phone up and talk to us, told us to get our mechanic and have him fix the car, meanwhile the car was broken under there 5 day warranty and now they are giving us a hard time on making the repairs, this place is not where you would want to by your next car..

Poor Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I went to the Palm Beach office and the salesman there was nice and polite. However, when I asked for the numbers, he printed a paper with high fees plus a $1495 Elite protection plan.

I declined the plan so he called the manager. The manager asked if I have a trade-in or if I was using their finance. I replied no to both questions, to which he turned around and said no. I asked the salesman for my license and left.

I then went to Rick Case Hyundai in Plantation. The very same night, I got a similar car with 1200 more miles for a savings of $2400.

If you ask for the price sheet first, you'll see that all the fees are inflated compared to other dealers. In comparison, Hgreg is terrible.

They steal money from buyers

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Do not buy a car at Hgreg. They force you to pay for an Elite Protection Plan for $1,495 that covers paint, fabric, and tire.

Of course, I didn't need it. They told me it was a poor decision not to buy the Gap insurance for $1,499. With my high credit score, a company called Ally gave me an interest rate of 15.7%. I ended up paying $20,000 plus the extremely high interest for a car that is worth $13,000.

I will post this review on a weekly basis. Do not buy a car at Hgreg.

Deceptive practices. Junk cars. Junk fees. Just horrible!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Be warned! Don't EVER buy a car from HGreg!

They got me!

It is the worst experience. The cars are junk and their practices are deceptive. Against my better judgment, I trusted their deceptive advertising about the quality of their cars and reassurances of their high pressure salesmen. I GOT SCAMMED!

In the 3 weeks since weve had the car, my daughter has been stranded with a dead battery that cost almost $500 to replace, its been in the shop 3 times and we are now facing estimated repairs of $7,000 for major issues that shouldve been caught if they truly did inspect before selling us as they advertised on their website.

All this on a 2018 vehicle with 54,000 miles.

I spoke to the general manager, Randy, and he said theres nothing he can do. I havent even made the first car payment yet! You mean to tell me their pre-sale inspection did not see these issues? I shouldve known something was wrong when they didnt allow us to drive the car home, but instead said there was an accounting issue and proceeded to deliver the car on a tow truck to my house the next day.

I have learned the hard way not to trust the people at HGreg and want to warn you.

These independent reviews did not lie.

How these people sleep at night selling crap cars under false pretenses is beyond me!

They are the worst!! Stay away!!!

Stay far away! I wish I did!!!

After buying a car Hgreg on 2/27 buy 6/24 I had buy a new car.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The worst car I had in life. I purchased a 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan with the mileage of 53,000 for $17,000 on February 27, 2024 at Hgreg.

First, in less than 2 weeks the engine light was on. I got it fixed. Apparently it was a sensor replacement. In June, I got a signal saying no engine oil in my car ( turn off engine )but that was after an oil change and a tuneup in April or the beginning of May, 2024.

So I bring it back to the Volkswagen service department and I had a major oil leak that cost between $5,000 and $8,000. Then I have a flood from the sunroof on June 13 that cost between $2000 and $3000. So in total, that was close to the amount of $17,000 I had financed the car. On June 15, 2024, I had purchased a new car.

I was offered $8000 for the 2016 Volkswagen's and lose $6,000 and a higher payment. Hgreg sold a horrible and smile at me knowing the car is quality and engine is bad. I trusted the company to sell me a great car, it's not free payment and not right. I am not asking for charity.

I work hard and dont deserve Tricky and unfair car deal. I deserve half of a refund for a bad car

The dealership was underhanded and lied. When I tried to call and talk to the salesperson and Finance manager I was blocked by the receptionist and was only allowed to speak with a manager named Rico.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I said I did not want to buy the warranty but they said it was part of the financing. When I asked what they had done to the vehicle so as it qualified for said warranty they refused to tell me.

The finance rate was 10.49% which was high. I was told that was because the vehicle was a 2015. That also was a lie because I spoke with my bank and they said the age of vehicle should have had nothing to do with the interest rate. I will never buy from this dealership again and intend to post monthly on several social media sites about my deal.

When I said I was bringing the vehicle back they said there was no return except to exchange it for another vehicle.

They didn't have another vehicle like this one. They say they are selling the vehicles wholesale but after they tack on the service warranty which I didn't want and did not sign the vehicle is actually back to retail. The warranty is basically a scam and doesn't really cover anything unless the company okays it. Having seen several reviews on this company, I don't think they ever cover what they say they do.

I may have to keep the vehicle but I hope my monthly post about the dealership put them out of business. I know if someone reads my post and then check out the reviews on this company nation wide they will probably look elsewhere.

User's recommendation: Stay away, they are underhanded and the manager Rico is dishonest and a liar. I contacted three other finance companies and all said in Texas I could not be forced to buy that warranty. A lawyer said they are playing a game of the warranty is not expensive enough for the lawyers to take them to court on. You would have to go to small claims court .
